Preparing Your Teen for Success in College
As we are all aware, there is great concern today regarding students' alcohol and other drug usage. It can be quite difficult to make parents aware of the critical role they play in this arena. Parents are perhaps even more skeptical of what impact they have once their sons and daughters go away to college. Too often parents feel the need to avoid this issue or to make general statements such as, "I just want you to be careful and not do anything stupid once you get to college."
To remedy this situation, Caron's Student Assistance Department has designed a program particularly for the parents of students whose post graduation plans are to attend college. The goal of this program is to facilitate parents' ability to communicate accurate, healthy and legal messages to their children regarding college alcohol and other drug use.
