Psycho-educational Support Groups
Caron SAP offers a wide variety of support groups to help students learn to cope effectively with many common barriers to their success. Our curriculum-based groups teach students the skills they need to thrive despite their challenges and provide opportunities to practice these skills in a confidential and supportive small-group environment. Groups typically run one class period per week for eight to ten sessions and are facilitated by a trained Caron Student Assistance Specialist. The groups are educational and not therapeutic in nature. Students requiring additional support will be referred as needed.
Group topics include but are not limited to:
- Anger Management
- Dealing with Divorce
- Grief and Loss
- Drug and Alcohol Insight
- Drug and Alcohol Intervention
- Drug and Alcohol Aftercare
- Marijuana Intervention
- Teen Issues
- Resiliency Skills
- Stress Management
- Kids of Promise- For students impacted by a loved one’s alcohol or drug addiction
Additional curriculum can be designed for schools as needed.
