Helping Students Cope with Grief and Loss
When a friend or family member dies, children react differently than adults. In this presentation, participants will gain knowledge of typical responses children and adolescents experience through the grief process, as well as signs and symptoms of a student who is struggling to effectively cope with their grief. Since many adults fear doing or saying the wrong thing to a grieving student, advice will be given on how best to support students who are grieving a loss in their lives.
